Summary

A weathered deck can lose its appeal and comfort fast, especially under the Alabama sun. For this project in Hoover, our goal was to revive and protect a large outdoor deck, giving the homeowners a space that looks inviting and stays cooler on hot days.

The Work

Stained deck, stairs, and railings with an 8-year solid stain in Desert Wood (SW3030)
Used Cool Feel™ Color Technology to help keep the surface temperature down
Applied a finish that shields wood from weathering, chipping, and cracking
Included agents in the paint film to help slow mildew growth

The Outcome

Now the deck stands out with a fresh, uniform color that ties in with the home's exterior. The surface is smoother underfoot and less likely to heat up during sunny afternoons. With the new stain, this outdoor area is ready for gatherings, relaxing, and everyday use—while holding up to the elements for years to come.
